Meet the producer: Sara Gutierrez of Finca La Helena
Sara Gutierrez is a third-generation coffee grower who initially pursued a career in business but later found her true calling in specialty coffee. As a certified Q-Grader with a background in microbiology, she successfully shifted her family farm’s focus from commercial coffee to high-quality specialty production.
Discovered during our trip to Colombia in April 2024, Sara’s dedication and expertise convinced us to purchase her entire 2024 harvest. Finca La Helena represents her vision: a meticulously cultivated, high-altitude coffee that showcases the elegance of Colombian terroir.
This coffee represents not only her family’s legacy but also her vision for the future of specialty coffee.
Brewing recommendations
Finca La Helena is roasted for both espresso and filter preparations. Please specify your preferred roast at checkout.
For filter:
Dose: 13g per 200ml of water
Grind: Medium (EK43 Grinder #7)
Brew Time: 2–3 minutes, with 4 gentle swirls during extraction
For espresso, we recommend a fine grind and a balanced extraction to bring out the chocolate and honey sweetness.
